Four friends head to a secluded house to party and spend the night. As Amanda explores the house, she begins to suspect that its former resident was hiding a dark and macabre secret. When the truth finally comes to light, only one question remains... Who will survive?
Game
The House is a slasher game inspired by many horror classics from the '70s and '80s. This is the final version of my old prototype game, The House, originally released in 2022. It's the story the way it was always meant to be, now far more polished and fully realized.
Although the visuals aren't stylized like my other games, I'm not aiming for ultra-realistic or next-gen graphics. It's still a modest project with a small scope, told in my own style.

I liked the gameplay, but the ending killed me lol literally.

Wow this game was truly amazing! Really loved it from start to finish. Insane graphics, smooth controls, and nice overall gameplay feeling. The ending left me a bit confused and I really wished it would've been much longer, I was just getting used to the pistol. Would love to see a sequel!
That aside, great job! 10/10 from me. Keep up the good work ❤️

Literally yesterday I checked your page and was confused—where did the demo for “The House” go? And today I log in and there it is, the full version
Hey, I found a bug that prevented me from continuing the game:

So you know the basement door without a handle.. you open it with the Pliers and it locks behind you. I did that, left the area, and kept playing.
Later I came back and tried the same door again, this time by using the Work Gloves. To my surprise, the door unlocked back in the same way it did with the Pliers.
Without a clue, I continued my journey and eventually found the Washing Machine with the barbed wire inside.. you guessed it.. since the Work Gloves were gone (used), there was no other way for me to search inside.
I checked the walkthrough videos in the comments and it seems there's no other way around it, I ended up bugging the game.
My guess is that because the Work Gloves were in the same Inventory Slot as the Pliers, they worked just as well on the basement door. I think the door may have reset to its initial state after it locked behind me and then it expected Slot 3 to be used on it (regardless of what was in Slot 3)..

Been waiting for another banger by Spring Rabbit and even though it’s a remake it absolutely SLAPS! This heavily improved on the original, looked amazing and I had so much fun playing it!

This game was REALLY solid. Definitely a great turn out. Great story, puzzles, mechanics, you name it. Had a blast checking this one out! Made a video on it.

The House is a phenomenal slasher experience that looks, plays, and sounds absolutely incredible. I loved how the story started with a familiar, nostalgic setup but slowly evolved into something completely unexpected and gripping. The excellent voice acting, atmospheric music, and cinematic presentation made the entire game feel like an interactive horror movie, which is exactly my favorite type of game. While it took me a little bit to figure out the puzzle mechanics since there were no direct instructions, they were ultimately very satisfying to solve. What completely caught me off guard was the final battle, which was an intense and surprising challenge. After shooting the killer so many times, I actually began to wonder if killing him was even the objective, but after numerous attempts, finally conquering that struggle brought a massive sense of accomplishment. The entire final sequence was brilliant, and as someone who never played the 2022 prototype, I am so glad this polished version was released. This is a top-tier indie horror game, and I am highly looking forward to playing whatever you create next.I would've appreciated some directions on what controls you can use. I spent a looong time on the first puzzle because I wasn't aware there was an inventory/what key to use to acess it.
There should be some text at the beginning now explaining how to open and use the inventory. Thanks for letting me know!
